2021 Year in Review
Since 2021 is coming to a close, I thought it would be fun to do a year in review podcast episode. I'm reflecting on all the good from the past year, as well as sharing what Sandra Coan Education has in store for 2022.
HIGHLIGHTS
Team Sandra Coan Education grew!
I’m a big believer in getting help when you need it, and I’ve almost always had an assistant or two up at my studio. But this year, I expanded my team for the education side of my business and hired an online business manager, a marketing assistant and a customer care specialist. It's been amazing!
Here are some wins we accomplished as a team. We added transcriptions to my signature course, The Missing Link, and to my group coaching program, The Six-Figure Studio, to make the content more accessible. This was a HUGE job that would not have been possible without Rosie, our customer care specialist.
We also started posting reels which got me out of my comfort zone on Instagram thanks to Karley, my marketing assistant…and even though every reel I post totally embarrasses my kids, it’s been a ton of fun!
In November, we had our first ever sale for my 50th birthday! As part of the sale, we published a NEW class, Dark & Moody.
Throughout the year, we ran live trainings, including The Mini Method trainings and 3 Steps to a Six-Figure Photography Business training. In addition to all that, we published a year's worth of podcasts episodes—which was way more challenging than I thought!
Top Podcast Episodes of 2021
Speaking of the podcast, out of all of the episode we published, here were our top three episodes:
037: The 3 Things You Need to Know to Create Your Ideal Light (666 plays)
025: Niching Down to Build Your Business Up with Rebecca Serpe! (518 plays)
028: An Extra 100k?! Yes Please! (515 plays)
All in all, I’m super proud of what we accomplished as a team. I had some major hardships this year personally, the biggest being that I lost my dad suddenly in August. I just don’t know how I could have continued to show up and run this little business of mine without my incredible team.
Plans for 2022:
We have big plans for 2022! I want to start incorporating more guests into the podcast. I love interviewing students of mine and have done that off and on throughout the year. I also know a ton of super talented people who work and teach in the photo industry, and my goal for 2022 is to reach out to them and invite some of my industry besties on the show.
I also have a BRAND new training all about marking mistakes to avoid this year that I’m releasing soon to help you make the most of your business in 2022.
I’ll be speaking and teaching LIVE again next year! I’ll be at Richard Photo Lad in February, at WPPI in February, at The Family Narrative in March! I’m also working with my friends at Westcott Lighting on creating some classes for Westcott University. And I’ll be teaching at B&H as well and will share dates as soon as I have them.
My goal for 2022 is to continue to do what I do, which is teach photographers how to build strong brands, profitable business and create beautiful, natural-looking light with strobes and flash!
