The Problem with February

When it comes to working on my business, I always use the first quarter of the year as my planning time. I use it to set myself up with a solid focus and strong marketing plan. I have noticed that February often gets overlooked.

HIGHLIGHTS

By the time February rolls around, we start slacking off on those New Year goals.

It's easy to slide into our day-to-day habits and let go of those exciting things we planned for ourselves on New Years. This February, I challenge you to be more focused and intentional.

February is really the perfect time to work on your business. By February, you are rested and realistic. The holidays are crazy in our industry, and that holiday craze really starts in September.

We go from that crazy holiday energy into the energy of the new year. February tends to be one of the slowest months for photographers, so it is the perfect time for us to get our marketing plan in gear.

Marketing is a long-term game. The effort you put in now can really show results in the spring, summer and fall. Marketing requires planning ahead. It is a sprint, not a marathon. Don't wait until you are ready to start seeing clients to market yourself, or else you will fall behind.

Our marketing should always be about a quarter ahead of where our clients are. If you want a busy spring and summer, then February is the perfect time to work on your marketing.

People are desperate for life to get back to normal. Now that the vaccine is starting to roll out, your clients are ready to get out into the world and have their pictures taken. It is the perfect time to work on your strategy and marketing plan!

If you need help with your marketing strategy, I invite you to join my signature group coaching program, the Six-Figure Studio. It is a 90-day program so if you join now, you are setting yourself up for a solid spring and summer.
