The Branding Series #1 - Your Logo is NOT Your Brand
I have hosted branding challenges on Facebook before, so I thought it would be so much fun to host one on the podcast! In this first branding series episode, we talk about what a brand is and what a brand isn't. HINT: Your brand is not your logo, as you will see!
HIGHLIGHTS
Solid brand = Solid business
Having a solid brand is essential to having a solid business. Your brand sets the tone for your business, so you cannot have one without the other! Having a strong brand allows you to attract your ideal client who values what you do.
A strong brand makes it easy to stand out in a saturated industry, due to the core characteristics of a brand. It eliminates the need to worry about your competition, and how great is that?! A strong brand also makes things like blogging and social media easy, and even kind of fun.
What is a brand?
Your brand is a compilation of many things. It is your work, style, passion, point of view as an artist, voice and personality. It’s what your clients or potential clients think of when they hear your name or your company name.
Understanding those aspects of your brand is really important for photographers, but those are often the things that get overlooked. Instead, people focus on their logo, color pallet and fonts. Those things are not your brand. They are important parts of your brand, but your brand is much, much more.
I have an extremely strong brand, and I don't even have a logo! A strong brand is unique and instantly recognizable. They are those photos we see come up in our feed, and we immediately know who the artist is.
When your brand becomes unique and instantly recognizable, it will also become trustworthy. When your clients trust your brand, they trust that whatever they buy from you will live up to their expectations.
Brands become super trustworthy like that when they are consistent in their messaging, client experience, and quality.
